The Flash Director Shares BTS Images as Movie Wraps

It’s a day that many fans of superhero Barry Allen thought would never come. But according to Andy Muschietti, director of the upcoming DC Films The Flash, the movie about the world’s fastest man has wrapped and will be coming to theaters in November of 2022.

Muschietti took to his Instagram to share some behind-the-scenes images and preview a bit as to what’s to come.

“What an adventure. Thanks to all of the crew and cast of ‘THE FLASH’ for giving it your best every single day,” he posted along with an image of himself in the director’s chair watching the action, along with a couple of other stills from earlier posts.

The news was further collaborated by sound mixer Colin Nicolson, who posted about the last day of shooting on Day 124, thanking his “fantastic” sound team, and “brilliant” cast and crew. “It’s been challenging but great fun,” he wrote.

A movie devoted to The Flash has been on the wish-list of Fanboys and comic book lovers for decades, and even though the superhero made an appearance in the 2017 Justice League film, there was still plenty of demand to see him in a standalone movie.

In 2018, plans were in motion to bring the character to a film as the first post-Justice League Warner Bros movie, but multiple changes in writers and directors just kept the project from gaining any traction. Eventually, the studio settled on Muschietti, who scored two hits with IT and its sequel, IT Chapter Two, as director, and Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson as its writer.

Ezra Miller returns to the role he played in Justice League, as Barry learns to use his speed to change time, but that creates some reality-altering consequences, including the appearance of several different Batmans! Unless you’ve been living on a deserted island somewhere, by now everyone knows that Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton will both don the cape of the Dark Knight for the film.

The Flash also stars Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdu as Nora Allen, Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry, Kiersey Clemmons as Iris West, and Sasha Calle as Supergirl.
