Netflix released the first eight minutes of the upcoming fourth season of its hit show Stranger Things. The series follows a supernatural fantasy story in a fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana where monsters have been emerging from a parallel dimension known as the Upside Down. A group of young teenagers with a help of Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) are tasked once again to stop the evil in Stranger Things Season 4.

Today, the official Stranger Things Twitter account shared the first eight minutes of the Stranger Things Season 4’s first episode. The post references Matthew Modine’s Dr. Brenner saying “What have you done?” Modine’s Dr. Brenner will be reappearing in the upcoming season after being absent in season 3. The 8-minute footage is a flashback of what seems to be some kind of violent act committed by a young Eleven back at the Hawkins lab.

The Stranger Things Season 4 Cast Are Split Into Three Places

The upcoming season finds the cast split across the nation and even overseas. We now know that Hopper (David Harbour) is in some kind of prison camp in Russia which, for some reason, has its own Demogorgon. The Byers along with Eleven are in California. Will and Eleven are facing one of their toughest battles yet —surviving high school in a new town and state.

Meanwhile, our other heroes are still Hawkins but will have to deal with a new monster arising from the Upside Down and could possibly come through a portal located in an attic of the haunted Creel house.

Stranger Things Season 4: Last 3 Episodes Will Be The Longest Ever

Stranger Things season 4 comes three years after season 3 due the production delays caused by the pandemic. The fourth season has been split into two parts. Part 1 will premiere in one week on May 27, 2022 which will be followed by part 2 this coming summer on July 1, 2022.

The season is made up of nine total episodes. The first volume will feature seven episodes. The final two episodes will premiere July 1st. According to Netflix’s Tadum companion site, the last three episodes are more than an hour each.

Stranger Things season 4 Episode 7 will be 1 hour, 38 minutes; Episode 8 will be around 1 hour, 25 minutes; and Episode 9 is a whopping 2 hours and 30 minutes. That’s a full-length feature film. If this is truly the last season of Netflix’s fantasy-horror series, at least fans will be getting a lot of content at the end of it all. But there has been hints about a fifth and final season.

Are you excited for the upcoming season? Do you think the cast will reunite to stop this new evil force from entering Hawkins? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
