Stranger Things Season 4 was off to a running start when it premiered on May 27 and it didn’t disappoint fans of the show. The Memorial Day Weekend premiere was perfect for those who wanted to stay in. One interesting fact about this season is a song by Kate Bush titled Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) recently climbed to number 1 spot on iTunes chart after playing a prominent part in Season 4 of Netflix’s hit series.

Stranger Things Season 4 Spoilers Below

Originally released in 1985, Kate Bush’s song played a very important part in one of the episodes of Stranger Things Season 4 “Dear Billy.” Max (Sadie Sink) was captured and in the grasp of Vecna who is this season’s evil entity from the Upside Down.

Nancy and Robin, after speaking with Victor Creel, learned that an “angel’s voice” saved him from being a victim. That angel’s voice happened to be a song Creel liked. They figured that if they played Max’s favorite song, which happened to be “Running Up That Hill“, it would release Max from Vecna’s trance. And so it did.

As they played the song through Max’s headphones, Max saw a portal open leading back to the normal world. As the song played, Max ran for her life and as soon as she reached the portal, the Max that was floating in the air snapped out of Vecna’s trance. The song saved her life.

“Running Up That Hill” is one of Bush’s most popular songs of all time and ranked No. 3 on New Musical Express’ 1985 Tracks of the Year list. It comes off the singer-songwriter’s fifth album, Hounds of Love. Credits on the track include Kate Bush, Alan Murphy on guitar, Del Palmer on bass guitar, Stuart Elliott on drums, and Paddy Bush on balalaika.

Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 1 brings back series favorites Eleven a.k.a. Jane Hopper (Millie Bobby Brown), Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo), Steve Harrington (Joe Kerry), Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin), Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder), Jim Hopper (David Harbour), Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer), Robin Buckley (Maya Hawke), and Jonathan Byers (Charlie Heaton).

Joining the original cast of Stranger Things are Eduardo Franco as Argyle, Joseph Quinn as Eddie Munson, and Jamie Campbell Bower as Henry Creel/ One /Vecna.

Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 1 is now streaming on Netflix. Volume 2 premieres on July 1. Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) by Kate Bush is available on music streaming services, including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music.
