Now that the Obi-Wan Kenobi series has arrived, fans can enjoy the return of Ewan McGregor to the titular role he played for three Star Wars movies. McGregor last played the character in 2005’s Revenge of the Sith, which ended the prequel trilogy and set up the character that would appear in Star Wars: A New Hope. The show will focus on his time between those movies. Another Star Wars actor returning to star in the series is Hayden Christensen.

Hayden Christensen, one of the key actors from the prequel trilogy, played Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars movies Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. Even though he ended up as Darth Vader by the end of the trilogy, he returned for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. But could there be more for Christensen in the future of Star Wars?

In an interview with ET Canada, the actor was asked if he’d to carry on to continue playing Darth Vader in more Star Wars media. His answer is about what you’d expect for an actor asked to reprise such an iconic role:

“Absolutely, I think this is a character that resonates in our culture in a very profound way, and there’s certainly more there to explore. There are so many other stories that have been told in these other mediums, and I would love to get to continue my journey with him.”

It certainly seems that another Star Wars show with Darth Vader might follow. Disney has already expressed great interest in exploring more of the nooks and crannies of the Star Wars universe and its many familiar characters. There has already been a series for the bounty hunter Boba Fett and plans are already in place to develop a series centered around the supporting Jedi Ashoka.

Darth Vader has also been a rather prominent character in much of the side stories Disney has explored. The character appeared for a handful of scenes in 2016’s Rogue One, with James Earl Jones once more reprising the voice. The character also played a bigger role in the Star Wars animated series Rebels.

Whether or not Disney decides to focus more on Vader for his own series remains to be seen. It could very well hinder on the response to the character’s appearance in the latest Star Wars series. But it sure seems that Hayden Christensen is up for returning for more as the Sith Lord.

The Star Wars actor can be seen playing Darth Vader in Obi-Wan Kenobi, now streaming on Disney+.
