While the sequel to the popular 2019 Shazam move won’t hit theaters until June 2, 2023, fans don’t need to wait two years for some intel. Shazam! Fury of the Gods director David F. Sandberg took to his Twitter to offer up a sneak peak of some of the costumes being utilized for the DC Comics upcoming film.

“Don’t know how long we can keep the new suits from leaking so here’s a pic I took the other day,” he Tweeted out to the universe with a photo of star Zachary Levi and the other heroes who will be joining Shazam in the new adventure.

Sandberg’s reasoning was sound, given that numerous photos of Levi’s suit had already hit the internet and spoilers were bound to continue. The director wanted to stay ahead of the spoilers this time.

The photo also shows Shazam’s family siblings with Shazam Jr. (Adam Brody), Mary Shazam (Grace Fulton) and the rest of the heroes in their new suits.

Previously, the director had noted that there would be new costumes for everyone when he was forced to confront the leaked photos of Shazam and his new look, so he’s staying true to his word.

“Might as well try some different things this time around and not just do the same thing twice,” he said at the time. “I told [costume designer Louise Mingenbach] some of the things I wanted this time. Her and her team designed and created it beautifully incorporating the things I asked for, we showed the studio and they thought it looked great and didn’t have any notes.”

Shazam 2 also sees the return of Angel Asher as Shazam’s human alter ego, Billy Batson, and Jack Dylan Grazer as Billy’s best friend and foster brother Freddy Freeman, who transforms into Shazam Jr.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods started filming in May and more news is sure to be leaked in the months ahead. The DC Universe is definitely ramping up their projects in the next few years. Recently, a short clip was released not too long ago teasing a glimpse of Billy Batson’s new suit in Shazam 2. Fury of the Gods is set to debut sometime in 2023.
