Release Date for Spider-Man: No Way Home Revealed

The three stars of the upcoming third Spider-Man installment have been having some fun with fans this week on social media, as actors Tom Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon have all been posting about what the title to the film would be.

For instance, Holland took to Twitter to say the movie would be called Phone Home, referencing the blockbuster movie E.T. Meanwhile, Zendaya joked it would be called Home Slice, and Batalon came up with Home-Wrecker as his entry.

The play on the word “home” in all three of their posts made sense considering the first two movies were called Spider-Man Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Thankfully, none of these titles are real, and Marvel Studios announced that the real title of Spider-Man 3 would be called Spider-Man: No Way Home and the film would be released this December.

The actors went back to Twitter after the announcement to confirm the news and even included some never-before-seen stills from the upcoming movie in their posts.

“We’re so excited to share the TITLE of our new movie!!” Batalon noted, adding lots of emojis. “Swipe right for the big reveal!!”

As with most Marvel projects, not a lot is known about No Way Home’s plot, but there have been plenty of rumors and spoilers coming by way of social media. Jamie Foxx and Alfred Molina are both expected to be part of the movie, rumored to be reprising their roles as Electro and Doctor Octopus from the Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies. Most fans expect Garfield and Maguire to be back as well in some capacity. Benedict Cumberbatch is confirmed to be joining the Spider-Man cast as well.

Spider-Man: No Way Home premieres in December 17, 2021.
