A new Stranger Things season 4 trailer was just released and confirms where the next season will take place — at least for Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Will Byers (Noah Schnapp). As the new trailer reveals Eleven moved to California with the Byers family, there is also a time jump from the previous season of the hit Netflix show.

Stranger Things has evolved through each seasons as the main cast gets older. While season 3 focused more on Eleven and Mike’s (Finn Wolfhard) relationship, the rest of the crew also had their own hills to climb. The season ended with the friends splitting up as Eleven moved away with the Byers family after the apparent death of Hopper (David Harbour).

There will be plenty of mysteries for fans when Netlflix’s Stranger Things returns. Some marketing materials have already given hints of what season 4 is about. Hopper actually being alive was teased at the end of season 3. The first Stranger Things season 4 trailer confirmed Harbour’s return. We also know that season 4 visits the 50’s when the trailer teased a haunted house plot that includes Robert Englund who will play the head of the Creel family that murders his wife and two children. This is supposed to play a major role in Stranger Things season 4’s story.

The new Stranger Things season 4 trailer released today by Netflix reveals more about the upcoming season. Most of the trailer is Eleven’s voice-over reading a letter to Mike. She talks about enjoying life in California for 185 days now. She talks about a new school and anticipating spring break where she’ll be able to see Mike. The new trailer then cuts to a montage of action sequences.

Season 4 has been the biggest gap in between seasons. Production started early 2020, but like other productions, filming was delayed due to the pandemic. That might’ve been a good thing for the show as it gave writers more time to work on the script hopefully making Stranger Things season 4 the best season yet. Harbour even said that this season is his favorite so far.

Based off the new Stranger Things season 4 trailer, Eleven and Mike will continue their romance even if they are miles apart. The season will likely jump back and forth between California and Hawkins, Indiana as the two groups are split up at each place. At some point in the season, they’ll potentially reunite.

The popular show returns summer of 2022 on Netflix. You can watch the new Stranger Things season 4 trailer below.
