Matrix 4 official title was revealed this week during CinemaCon and to give fans even more, a teaser trailer was premiered during the Warner Bros. event showing Neo (Keanu Reeves) and Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) reunite. The official title of the fourth movie in the Village Roadshow and Warner Bros. film is The Matrix Resurrections.

    Matrix 4 Trailer Breakdown

The Matrix Resurrections trailer opens up in San Francisco. Neo is now going by the name Thomas. We see him during some sort of therapy session seemingly unaware of who he is. Neil Patrick Harris plays his therapist. Neo says, “I’ve had dreams that don’t seem like dreams. Am I crazy?” before he has flashblacks to the events of the first three movies.

The Matrix 4 trailer continues with Neo and Trinity reuniting, but this time, they don’t know each or even though they think they do. Trinity asks Neo as Thomas, “Have we met?”. Then the trailer goes into montage mode. Neo is observing every day life in the Matrix’s version of San Francisco city. Then Yahya Abdul-Mateen II shows up and he looks like a young Morpheus and says, “Time to fly,” before offering Neo a red pill and a blue pill. Then, a young woman with blue hair takes Neo through a mirror. On the other side of the mirror is the Matrix.

The Matrix 4 trailer continues with another scene where we see young Morpheus and Neo fighting before Neo breaks the dojo room with his powers. The trailer also reveals that the machine pods and the Agents are back. The trinity is seen fighting police officers and the Agents before the clip ends with Neo’s signature move, stopping bullets with his mind, before he redirects a missile at a helicopter.

The Matrix 4 stars Keanu Reeves as Neo, Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity, and Jada Pinkett Smith as Niobe. Some fresh new faces join the original cast members including Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as a young Morpheus, Neil Patrick Harris, Jonathan Groff, Priyanka Chopra, Christina Ricci, and Jessica Henwick.

Lana Wachowski returns to direct the fourth Matrix film without her sister and former directing partner, Lilly. The Matrix Resurrections is set to premier in theaters and on HBO Max on December 22, 2021.

Hopefully, we’ll get a Matrix 4 trailer out soon so we can see the described details in motion.
