Bronny James, son of NBA superstar Lebron James, was rushed to a hospital after suffering cardiac arrest during a basketball workout at USC. It has been reported that the athlete is now in stable condition.

A member of the James family told TMZ Sports that “Yesterday while practicing Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest. Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU. We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update media when there is more information.”

The James’ spokesperson added, “LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes.”

Others sources close to the James family told TMZ Sports that on Monday a 911 call was made at 9:26 AM from USC’s Galen Center where the 18-year-old athlete was practicing. Bronny James was unconscious and then taken by ambulance to the hospital.

TMZ’s sources say it was a code 3 — ambulance lights and sirens indicating how serious the emergency was.

The sports world is sending its support for Bronny James including NFL player Damar Hamlin. He suffered commotio cordis, sudden arrhythmic death caused by a low/mild chest wall impact, during a game last January. Hamlin said he’s available anytime they need anything from him going forward.

“Here for you guys just like you have been for me my entire process,” the Buffalo Bills safety said.

Bronny James is a rising star in his sport. He recently committed to USC and is expected to be in the NBA. He was a McDonald’s All-American during his high school senior season. Lebron James has expressed interests in being the first father and son duo to be actively playing together in the league.

Bronny, who recently attended the ESPY awards two weeks ago with his family, is a 4-star recruit who averaged 14 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists during his senior season at Sierra Canyon.

We share our prayers to Bronny James and his family in their time of concern.
